His work is supported by the National Gugak Center (Seoul, South Korea), New York University's Vilar Global Fellows, Amsterdam's STEIM Center, Wesleyan University's Laptop Ensemble and Balinese Gamelan Ensemble, the Flute Society of Portland, the Ojai Center for the Arts, the New Music Ensemble at New York University, and the New Music Ensemble of Edmonton. He is also a member of ORGANS WITHOUT BODIES (with percussionist John Brennan) and ASSAULT CHARGE (a punk/digital hardcore band with Eamon McGrath).

Taves was the guitarist of the short-lived no-wave band OTHER JESUS. Jacob Audrey Taves has toured Europe, Canada, USA, Mexico and Japan with various bands and projects with Merzbow, Keiji Haino, Venetian Snares, Freida Abtan, John Oswald, Mark Hosler (Negativland), People Like Us, DJ Olive, DJ Olive, William Hooker, Zea, Andy Moore and others.
