In this award-winning film by Portuguese director João Canijo, we can see the shadow of Bergman in Berlin. No wonder: it is based on the motifs of Swedish playwright August Strindberg, who is very close to the Swedish classic, and pays the most attention to the dynamics of family relationships. With the distance characteristic of contemporary Portuguese cinema, he studies three times the women who, together, ruled the best times of the resort hotel they left behind in the past. Each of them accumulated grievances for too long, each waited too long for the right moment to express themselves. N-16
