The exhibition will present cycles of drawings as individual pieces or installations. The drawings are executed on paper of various sizes and textures, using acrylic, graphite powder, ink and other materials. According to art historian Dr Vido Poškaus, "all aspects of a drawing - line, stroke, stain, different and various combinations of these elements - are of particular importance to B. Ružis". The exhibition will run until 24 March. "In the exhibition "The Image Seduces the Image", I present works made only on paper or left on paper in sketchbooks. In the collections of abstract works, I present constructive compositions, cycles of them, which are inspired by my first ideas and their technical fulfilment, which satisfies me. It is a kind of continuous provocation that encourages me to explore the beginning of a new visual track. I give an opportunity to look at the materiality of the drawing without enclosing it in classical props, frames or (re)hiding it under glass. I look at paper as a cultural element and explore the possibilities of its 2D plastic expression. For me, a white sheet is like an altar that I don't want to stain. But I have to. I have included one/other work from my solo exhibitions held in Vilnius "Arka", "Kablis", "Pamėnkalnis", "Titanikas" galleries or the Contemporary Art Centre, as well as in the exhibition halls of Kėdainiai, Klaipėda, Panevėžys, Šiauliai between 1984 and 2024. I just want to say to the viewer that in forty years, not everything is covered by the dust of time" - B. Rudys.
