In order to encourage contemporary designers and creators of art industries to use the inexhaustible work of Čiurlionis, applying his ideas to our everyday life, the National M. K. Čiurlionis Museum of Art is launching a mini-exhibition cycle "Čiurlionis and Design". Vytautas Landsbergis, a politician, art and culture historian, and the most prominent researcher of Čiurlionis' work, is discovering new inspirations in the artist's work. The professor invites us to actualise and use the traditional elements of Lithuanian national design found in Čiurlionis' works in our everyday environment. Thanks to the joint efforts of Professor Vytautas Landsbergis and UAB Audėjas, a fabric sample was created based on the motifs of M. K. Čiurlionis' works. The exhibition also features a chair designed by furniture maker Arvydas Tijūš based on a sketch by Čiurlionis. Birutė Landsbergyte, the professor's daughter, was looking at many of the artist's drawings and came up with the idea of making a chair with Lithuanian motifs drawn by Čiurlionis and presenting it to her father.
