The Lithuanian Children's and Schoolchildren's Television Competition "Song Song" is one of the country's most unique musical events, attracting the largest number of participants, with long-standing traditions, and continuing to celebrate its 50th anniversary this year. "Dainų dainelė aims to foster the culture of singing, encourage artistic expression among talented children, and select the country's best young soloists and vocal ensembles. For the twenty-sixth time, the competition has led a number of well-known Lithuanian singers and musicians to professional music careers. Even those who did not choose this profession remember the Song Song Contest as one of the most important and exciting experiences of their lives. The competition has brought up many generations: children have taken part in it, and as they grew up and became parents, their children, and then grandchildren, took to the stage.
