The classic 1987 American film Dirty Dancing (orig. Dirty Dancing, hailed as one of the best love stories in cinema, will be brought to life in May next year in a unique concert "Dirty Dancing in Concert"
In a never-before-seen in Lithuania screening of the film on a big screen with a live concert, the audience will see not only the legendary film, but also musicians, performers and even dancers who will bring the magic of dancing seen in the film into reality.
Mixed 36 years ago, the romantic drama Dirty Dancing tells the story of a young woman named Baby who falls in love with her dance teacher, Johnny, on holiday. Starring Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze.
With its sensitive story and soundtrack, the film has captured the hearts of audiences around the world, earning $214 million.
Dirty Dancing stood out from the crowd with its music, hailed by many as the best soundtrack of the 1970s. The film features such classics as Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes' "I've Had The Time of My Life", The Contours' hit "Do You Love Me" and Eric Carmen's "Hungry Eyes".
The film's concert, which will visit four cities in Lithuania, was produced by Karl Sydow, who has been working on the various Dirty Dancing projects for the past 19 years. The talented producer has also worked on events such as British singer Sting's "The Last Ship" tour and hundreds of theatre productions in the US and UK.
