Event description
An evening dedicated to the work and music of the brilliant Keith Jarrett will be hosted by Vytis Nivinskas and Richardas Banys.
Undeniably one of the most interesting jazz artists in the world is the American pianist, improviser and composer Keith Jarrett, who has surprised many generations of jazz listeners with the productivity and diversity of his creative work. His idea of instant improvisation was and remains one of the greatest creative inspirations for Lithuanian jazz pianist Richard Banis. During the evening we will hear Richard's interpretation of free and instant "jazretic" improvisation, and we will listen to and discuss the most characteristic recordings of Jarrett's piano solos that have taken place over four decades.
This evening is devoted to solo works and performances by the composer and performer, and on 8 February there will be a meeting focusing on trios, quartets and other ensembles.
