DŽIAZO NIGHT | Egidijus Buožis Quartet Egidijus Buožis (keyboards) Artūras Chalikovas (acoustic and electric guitars) Artūrs Duckis (bass guitar) Darius Rudis (percussion)
The well-known Lithuanian jazz pianist and composer Egidijus Buožis, who has brought together a quartet of excellent musicians, promises an inspiring programme of jazz - from jazz standards to original compositions. In his music Egidijus Buožis develops the mainstream tradition, combining elements of early piano styles with modern jazz expressions. His harmonic language and sound aesthetics also contain reflections of academic music. The pianist began his concert career as a performer of academic music - he has given solo recitals and performed with symphony and chamber orchestras. Nowadays, he plays jazz more often, appearing as a soloist and with his own quartet for which he composes. For several years he has been organising a series of spontaneous improvisational duets.
