Kęstutis Vaiginis presents his exclusive international jazz quartet, including 2 elite Grammy winners and nominees from New York. This is an impressive international line-up of names well known to the jazz elite. The Kęstutis Vaiginis Quartet, with invited guests from New York and Helsinki, will perform classical melodies familiar to the audience, as well as original compositions featuring elements of baroque jazz, harmony and structured melodies with improvisational and rhythmic jazz elements. The sound of the music performed will be unique, a fusion of two seemingly disparate genres, where the sophistication of Baroque music will be intertwined with the spontaneity and energy of Jazz.
Baroque Jazz is a unique fusion of baroque classical music and jazz. It combines elements of Baroque music, complex melodies, intricate ornamentation and contrapuntal textures that have the improvisational and rhythmic nature of jazz. Baroque jazz often features musicians who are highly skilled in both classical and jazz techniques, with excellent experience and the ability to navigate the complex melodies and harmonies of Baroque music, while retaining the improvisational spirit of jazz. Notable Baroque jazz artists include Jacques Loussier, famous for his jazz interpretations of Johann Sebastian Bach, and Uri Caine, who combines elements of Baroque music with contemporary jazz improvisation.
