Jordana Butkutė announces an ambitious concert: "It's time to meet again in the arena"
On 26 April, Kaunas Žalgiris Arena will host the biggest concert of recent times by Džordana Butkutė and her band "Man patinka". "I want the people there to say from the very first moment: 'I like it!" -
Jordana was the first Lithuanian singer, a woman, to have a smashingly successful tour called "Unburnt on the Bonfire" in every arena in the country. In 2014, setting up an entire apocalyptic city on stage with huge decorations and burning cars seemed beyond comprehension.
Djordana has pleasantly surprised many times over the past 10 years: even today, audiences still remember her "I'm the Queen!", "To the Moon and Back", where original constructions were breathtaking: a moving moon, giant locators, openwork stage legs creating the effect of hanging gardens, mirrors manipulating light and many other unique solutions. And at the centre of it all is the decades-popular stage icon Giordana, who brings everyone to their feet with her powerful energy and endless volleys of superhits.
The team is already working hard to prepare for what will happen on 26 April. "If you want to achieve something, you have to work, work, work. Not instant, but long-term success does not happen by itself. You have to put aside hesitation, modesty, overcome mistrust and move forward. If you are afraid of something, close your eyes and move beyond your fear. That's the only way to go on and get what you want. I am very happy to have a team of professionals around me who know their job and are able to go above and beyond. With them, I can do anything," says Jordana.
Recently, she delighted the audience by bringing back her hit "Išvažasiu pie jūros", which has been unsung for 15 years, and by presenting a video for it that hasn't been shot in at least 20 years. This song has long been requested by J. But Butkutė's fans, whose ranks are noticeably renewed.
"The children whose mothers used to spin my tapes have grown up," she smiles. But it's not just about nostalgia. We have shown the highest quality at every arena show. People used to queue for hours after concerts to hug us. And I would be there, chatting, because it didn't matter to me that I had just given my all on stage and my strength was almost gone. It's more important to me that people are full of impressions and want to share them with me, thank me, and finally take a picture. It's time for everyone to meet again and be happy, because such concerts in arenas, when you can realise all your biggest dreams, ambitious technical solutions and create a world of your own, are not only a huge challenge, but also a great happiness."
Jordana promises to give the audience a palette of the warmest emotions now. "I have my eyes closed in the poster of the arena concert because I am enjoying the moment I am experiencing. When the song "I Like It" was written, I didn't know yet that its true meaning would be felt years later. Now that we have been through so much, I know it clearly: I love living this way, I am grateful for the life I have. And what would it be without you? It's time to meet again in the arena, sing all our favourite songs together and share our happiness," she says.
