Ernesta Žemaitytė's evening of movement miniatures "Metamorphosis" is dedicated to celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the artist Žemaitytė on stage.
During the evening the audience will have an opportunity to see three solo movement miniatures, listen to Laura Stadalninkaitė's original songs, and hear poems by Eduardas Saprykinas.
E. Žemaitytė's desire and stubbornness to create, to be on the stage, is not stopped by any obstacles of life. On the contrary, they turn into an even greater motivation and become part of the stage action. The first movement miniature, "Out of the Box", created by choreographers Petras Lisauskas and Indrė Puišytė - Šidliauskienė, depicts a shy, unconfident personality stepping out of its comfort zone. It is difficult to leave a quiet and safe place, it is scary to face unknown obstacles, but one always wants to try something new and untried. The unknown world invites and entices, and at the same time encourages you to reveal yourself, not to be afraid to be who you are, to embrace your uniqueness.
This miniature is an excerpt from the performance "Is it easy for you?" by the Ukrainian directors and choreographers Inna Falkova and Maria Bakal. This miniature is the story of birth, of life in a body trapped by disability. The difficult realisation that you are not like the others brings you down, but the great desire to live makes you not stop, not to give up, to face your fate with courage.
The third miniature, directed by the choreographer-dancer Julija Strupaitė, combines the previously seen events into a single story. The first tentative touches on the stage, the getting to know it, the enjoyment and joy of being on it. The stage, as in life, is a place of constant change, adaptation, going through obstacles. The ability to find confidence is liberating.
