Three men meet at the King of Club, a Fargo bar where Jerry, a car dealer, and two criminals, Karl, a loose cannon, and Geir, a silent man, meet. Jerry has ordered the kidnapping of his wife, Gina, to ransom his father-in-law. The trio shake hands when Jerry promises $80,000. Soon after, Jerry meets his father-in-law, a wealthy businessman named Wade, and offers to buy a large plot of land from him. He agrees. Realising that the kidnapping no longer makes sense, Jerry sets out to find his wife's kidnappers. The kidnappers have already taken Gina to their home. On the way, he shoots not only the policeman who stopped their car, but also the witnesses who passed by. The investigation is handed over to policewoman Marge, who is seven months pregnant. The black humour drama "Fargo" has won almost 60 different prizes. It won the directing award at Cannes.
