Boglárka Börcsök and Andreas Bolm (Hungary, Germany) | FIGURING AGE
A thrilling and multi-generational immersive performance-installation that takes place in the liminal space between cinema, dance and theatre. In the creative spiritism session organized by B. Börcsök and A. Bolm, the viewer meets three elderly dancers Éva, Irén and Ágnes, who are between 90 and 101 years old. 20th century in the 1940s, these dancers contributed to the spread of modern dance in Hungary. Based on videos shot in the dancers' homes, the artist duo created a meticulous choreography of reincarnation, in which the heroines return to the stage through Börcsök's body and voice.
Following in the footsteps of these women, how they changed their lives and dance practices to survive the 20th century. social and political change, the artists explore how endurance, omissions and traumas are inscribed in the body and movement.

Boglárka Börcsök and Andreas Bolmas have been working together since 2017. Together, they made the documentary The Art of Movement, a portrait of three Budapest dancers over 90 years old. Their performance and video installation Figuring Age, based on this film, was presented at the Helsinki festival Moving in November and the ImPulsTanz festival in Vienna, where they received an honorable mention.
Boglárka Börcsök is a Hungarian stage artist and choreographer living in Berlin. Studied dance at Anton Bruckner Private University in Austria and P.A.R.T.S. in Belgium. As an interpreter, she participated in the works of Tino Sehgal presented at the "documenta" (13) exhibition, the Stedelijk Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art KIASMA. Danced in Joachim Koester's video works "The Place of Dead Roads" and "Maybe This Act, This Work, This Thing", shown in various museums around the world. Börcsök has been appearing and collaborating with Eszter Salamon for several years in the latter's widely acclaimed series MONUMENT, which was presented at the Ruhr Triennale, Center Pompidou, Avignon Festival, Kunstenfestivaldesarts, Tanz im August, etc. Since 2016 Boglárka appeared in several of Boris Charmatz/Terrain's 20 Dancers for the XX. German-Hungarian director Andreas Bolm lives and works in Berlin. He studied at the FAMU Film School in Prague and the Department of Documentary Films at the Munich University of Television and Film. His films have been shown at many world-famous festivals. The artist's short film "Jaba" premiered at the 59th Cannes Film Festival, and at the Bilbao Film Festival "Zinebi" he was awarded the best documentary film created during the prestigious internship at the Cinéfondation Residence Festival de Cannes. The premiere of his first full-length feature film "Die Wiedergänger" took place in the "Perspektive Deutsches Kino" program of the 63rd Berlinale, which was later presented at New York's MoMa museum. in 2016 A. Bolm directed his second feature film, Le Juge, starring French actor and director Jacques Nolot. in 2018 together with German DOP and director Gerd Breiter completed the short documentary Mein Letztes Video starring rising YouTube star Anton "Reyst".
