"Ballads in the Moonlight" is a concert by the FortVio ensemble, combining the beauty of different eras and musical traditions, inspired by natural landscapes and poetic imagery.

The 13th International M. K. Čiurlionis Music Festival invites you to an exceptional concert, where different eras, styles and musical traditions meet - from Lithuanian to world music masterpieces. FortVio, an ensemble of the highest professionalism and enthusiasm, will, as always, strive to surprise the audience. This time they will present a unique programme whose deep emotional experiences and musical discoveries combine the spirit of Čiurlionis's work with the beauty of masterpieces by other great composers of his contemporaries.

The concert will feature Čiurlionis's works, which convey the beauty of the composer's native land and symbolist images, and Eduard Balthas's Habanera, which fuses elements of both Lithuanian and world music. There will also be Antonín Dvořák's trio "Dumky", in which elements of Romanticism and folklore are reminiscent of Čiurlionis' music. The programme will be complemented by Claude Debussy's famous "Moonlight", which illustrates the impressionist approach to nature. And Astor Piazzolla's "Winter" and "Spring" are thematically close to Čiurlionis' work through their compositional approach to the changing cycle of the seasons.
