Giedrius Reimeris was born, trained and studied in Vilnius. He started his creative activity as a student of the Art Institute. After graduating from the institute, he worked in various advertising offices, institutions and as a freelancer. According to the author, his involvement in the Sąjūdis gave him the honour and responsibility to mark important events for Lithuania and the newly established organisations. While working in the Lithuanian army, the author sought to design and balance the signs in a way that would be in line with the army's structure, subordination and modern requirements. Both in the Sąjūdis and in the army it was important for the author to uphold the historical signs and symbols of the Lithuanian state, respecting their authenticity and adapting them to the present-day relevance.
