8 A time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace; &/div>
In the wake of the Second World War, Theodore W. Adorno was asked by the author: "Emanuel Levinas wondered whether it was possible to write poetry after Auschwitz, Emmanuel Levinas wondered whether it was possible to do philosophy after the Holocaust, and today the well-known Lithuanian artist G. Vaičys asks whether we can take our minds off the war in Ukraine. Can he, as an artist, deal with his work in the same way as he did before the war started? To what extent does the tragedy of his Ukrainian friends affect his own psyche, emotions and artistic imagination? How does it affect his work?
The exhibition will feature works related to Ukrainian themes, created between 2014 and 2023, from the events on the Maidan to the most recent events.
Gintautas Vaičys: ,,... I dedicate this exhibition to my friends: the artists of Ukraine, and to Ukraine as a whole, and to all those who support Ukraine..."
