Event description
The mastery of the hand and the penetration of the eye bring wealth and recognition to the painter Francisco de Goya. Even King Charles IV opens the gates of his palace to him. Goya enjoys the shelter and glory of fine art. However, an unexpected visit to a Madrid taverna and an acquaintance with ordinary citizens shakes the foundations of his world. Armed with a paintbrush, the painter rebels against the vices of society and the church. The images of the nobility are replaced by grimaces and gloomy visions of a country in turmoil. V
