On 3 July in Palanga Concert Hall - an exclusive performance of Grammy winner Gregory Porter together with his band - only once in Lithuania in 2025.
Superstar Gregory Porter has a huge fan base in Lithuania and his concerts are a feast for music lovers' ears. The world-famous singer has been hailed as "America's second best jazz singer" after Louis Armstrong. Gregory Porter's work transports listeners to a different time and place. His music weaves old jazz roots with stylish and contemporary soul and gospel soundscapes.
"I didn't start writing music out of unhappy love or a broken heart. It's all because of my father. The pain in my chest that I've felt since I was a child, without his attention," Gregory Porter said of his beginnings. Growing up in California, his life has been as transformative as the plot of a movie. He started his career as a football player, but serious injuries led him to Brooklyn, where he worked in his brother's restaurant. There, as a chef, he spent his evenings singing in New York's nightclubs and bars.
Gregory Porter released his debut album in 2010 to international acclaim. Just a few years later, in 2012, his work was nominated for its first Grammy Award. Tracks such as 'L-O-V-E', 'Hey Laura', 'Christmas Wish', 'Everything's Not Lost', 'Smile', 'Somebody', 'Holding On' and many more have conquered the music lovers' playlists.
