"We have all experienced the situation when a song, a melody, a phrase, is constantly and involuntarily "playing in our head". These situations sometimes make us feel uncomfortable trying to get rid of the intrusive information. In our minds, these fragments, which keep popping up and popping out, although they have no pragmatic value, have accumulated in our subconscious from the "uncontrolled" ignorance. And the further we go, the more it seems to me that we are "made" of what has been learned, appropriated and absorbed for reasons that cannot be (re)explained, that have been forgotten. It has eventually become, as it were, the unnecessary, but at the same time "acting" background of our daily lives. The exhibition "Two espressos in separate cups" was created by "hunting" for these fragments, texts and images. Some of the sources of the involuntarily generated material are quite easy to identify, but some of them remain as inarticulate data lost in the flow of information. Overall, this exhibition is my self-portrait and autobiographical comic." (Gytis Skudžinskas) Vilnius Photography Gallery (Stiklių g. 4) will be open until 24 August.
