The artistic objects in this exhibition aim to reveal the possibilities and diversity of leather materials and techniques, as well as the range of artists' styles, ideas and artistic interpretations. Sometimes the experimental works surprise even the artists themselves with unexpected results. This is all the more so because, as technology advances, new tools and a wider range of applications for this material are emerging. Creation is life, just as life can be called creation. The title "Life in Art Forms" reveals the authors' common approach to creation, to the world around us and to the events that inevitably touch everyone, that are experienced deep in the heart and that take on an individual associative artistic expression through a form that can only be grasped with the help of imagination and personal experience. Over the long period of the specialty's existence, many generations of leather artists have changed in Lithuania. Many of the representatives of this field studied leather art at the Estonian State University (now the Tallinn Academy of Fine Arts). At present, there is only one place in Lithuania where professional leather art specialists are trained. In 1959, the first leather art studies in Lithuania were started at the Stepas Žukas Applied Art Technical College in Žaliakalnis, on Owl Hill, and they are still held at the Academy of Arts, Faculty of Arts and Education, Kaunas College of Arts and Education.
