Having reached creative maturity, he is able to open up the deepest layers of music. His recordings have won numerous prestigious awards, including the Diapason d'OR Prize in 2019, the Grammophone Award in 2022 with Asmik Grigorian and the International Classical Music Award (ICMA) in 2023.
Anna Geniušienė reached an unprecedented pinnacle of a woman's life in June 2022 when she won the Silver Medal at the prestigious Cliburn International Piano Competition in the US. More than 9 million people watched her performance breathlessly. And in October, the public adored the winner and gave birth to her second son! Anna Geniušienė's new, multi-layered and powerful interpretations are admired by thousands of fans around the world. In America, Anna has had her greatest triumph, touring the country in 2023 and performing in the world's most famous concert halls.
Hallelujah Junction is a small truck stop at the intersection of three roads on the border of California and Nevada. It marks the end of a difficult and exhausting 19th century emigrant journey, after crossing the High Sierra and happily reaching the plains. The name of this abandoned and forest-fire-stricken backwater inspired John Adams, one of the most famous composers of our time, to compose a work for two pianos that has been hailed as a masterpiece of American minimalism.
Anna and Luke's New Year's Concert will open up the musical landscape of 20th-century America and its vibrant energy, from the street sounds and dreamy blues of 20th-century New York to the lively piano passages of Hallelujah Junction, full of joie de vivre and bright hope.
