Have a nice Monday at work, is that possible? After all, most people start looking forward to Friday night on Monday morning, because work is not a pastime, it's a place to earn money. Could it be otherwise? This time, the AKTORIŲ Theatre presents a very hard-working, but at the same time relaxing comedy TO WORK AS A CELEBRATION, based on the play Happy at Work by French author Isabelle Grolier.
The play takes place in the editorial office of a newspaper, whose financial situation is getting worse and worse every month, as printed newspapers are unpopular with the advent of the Internet era. The three employees in the editorial office are not very fond of each other and of their jobs, and they are just looking for a way to get home as fast as they can through the editorial office door. The director who runs the newspaper cannot stand the attitude of the staff, but they all keep on working because they have no other option. But the solution is suddenly offered by a Dutch investor who promises to invest in the newspaper on one strange condition: from now on, the staff must be happy at work and go to work as if it were a celebration!
Will the four colleagues who dislike each other find a way out? Here's where the real confusion, funny situations, hilarious misunderstandings and, most importantly, more work begins!
Maybe this play will give the audience the answer the whole world has been searching for for centuries: how to be happy at work? And if you don't find the answer, at least you will take away an optimistic view of the work that some people love and others dislike and the happiness that everyone strives for.
