Let's drop everything that is too much. Too many layers of clothes, too much make-up, too many sounds, too much script, too much performance.
We're only taking what's really, really necessary to this concert on 14 February. And the most essential will be the voice and the piano, because the three planets of the concert will revolve around the black: cello, trumpet and percussion. Can you feel the combination? It's already sweet...
The piano is my first (and by the way, longest) love. That's why when I sing with piano accompaniment I always go back to the beginning. The beginning with the uncontrollable stage fright, the shaking hands and the breaking voice. But alongside all these things, in that beginning, there was also the crazy desire to tell our stories in song. A desire stronger than the uncontrollable excitement, the shaking hands and the breaking voice. When I lacked courage, the piano was always my refuge. In life and in concerts. It is still the best reminder that life is made up of black and white, and that absolutely all the keys have their own voice. Let's say it again.
In this concert we will gently strip my songs and they will open up to you as they have always been at their core. Songs for voice and piano. With a bit of embellishments and the planets spinning around.
Let's let go of all that is too much. Let's bring to the concert those who are necessary. Let's spend Valentine's Day evening in a more intimate way.
Just a voice, a piano and a heart that listens to you.
