On the morning of the weekend we invite you to join our SUP (paddle) tour on the Gruda River.

The Gruda River is a torrential and very winding river flowing through the Dzūkija National Park. The water is clear, sandy, and incredibly clean. The river flows fast, meanders through meadows and the beautiful Dzūkija silas, and the route is not short of gates, local footbridges and bridges, but the obstacles are easy to overcome and add a positive spice.

TIMING.
Please arrive at 11:00 am, a van will arrive to bring you to the starting point. We will start with a briefing, during which you will hear all the necessary information: how to get on the paddle board, how to swim correctly, how to behave in case of a fall, which route to take and other important rules of behaviour on the water. The briefing takes about 15 minutes, then you will swim. The route is 12 km long, which is about 4 hours of swimming down the river. For the whole expedition you should plan up to 5 hours (with preparation, instructions, packing after the trip).

LOCATION. Meet at Gruda campsite, near the village of Kašėtų, in the Varėnos district, coordinates 54.092802, 24.374761 (near Gruda bridge), link  to the map https://goo.gl/maps/ef17oNLQuyyAwkne7 it is about 2 km away from Kašėtų village coming from Merkine.

PREPAREDNESS. Wear loose fitting, sporty clothes that won't get in the water (you can roll up your pants:) We recommend you have dry clothes in the car in case you accidentally fall off the boat (the chances of you accidentally fall off are slim, but it's better to be prepared).


WATER. The price of the tour on the Gruda River is 40 Eur (price includes: instruction, all necessary equipment, transport from the finish to the starting point).

In case of very unfavourable weather conditions (storm, thunderstorm or other dangerous natural phenomenon), which may endanger the participants of the event, the event may not take place at the scheduled time and may be postponed to another date by mutual agreement.


PARTICIPATIONS. Please note that the accompanying instructor does not swim with you during the tour.

Persons under the influence of alcohol or other substances are not allowed to participate in the tour. The organisers reserve the right to refuse to provide the service to such persons and not to refund the money paid for the ticket. 

If the tour takes place but the client does not show up for the tour and has not contacted the administration in advance (24 hours prior to the start of the tour) using the contact details on the ticket, the money paid for the ticket is not refundable. The ticket purchased is valid only for the tour date indicated on the ticket. Refunds will only be issued if the tour is cancelled. If you wish to exchange your tickets, an exchange fee of EUR 5 applies. You can exchange your tickets for another tour up to 24 hours before the start of the tour.
