The outdoor exhibition "From the Beehive" is a habitat of historical and ethnographic stories, encouraging not only to learn about the twists and turns of bees and beekeeping's path to Lithuania, but also to remain indifferent to today's current affairs. The symbolic hive combs contain a wide range of information, from historical artefacts and written testimonies to reflections of ethnic cultural traditions alive today. The explanations accompanying the images encourage people to be curious, to ask questions, to compare the past with the present, to share their insights and knowledge with others, and to pay attention to ecological issues. For a closer acquaintance with the bee, a favourite insect of the Lithuanians, the honeycombs of the educational beehive will facilitate the cognitive journey of visitors who are more distant from nature. The outdoor exhibition is safe for people allergic to bee stings. The garden of Jonas Basanavičius' birthplace (Gimtinės g. 17, Ožkabalių I k., Vilkaviškis r.) will be open in June.
