Marius Ivaškevičius' play "Banishment" tells the story of Lithuanian immigrants in London searching for happiness and identity. The dramatic and comic narrative is based on the author's own selection of authentic stories.
The play takes us into the story of a group of Lithuanian immigrants who landed in the jungles of London around 2000. Each of them longs to find the perfect life, to win everything with nothing - something that many Lithuanians dreamed of after the fall of Soviet oppression.
Benas, the protagonist of the play, is created by as many as three actors, and together with the entire cast, his characters tell the fictional story of the life of "Lionda's Mongolian", which is presented uncensored, frank, painful, and in many cases, bitter and painful, with the characters' own self-irony.
We invite you to join the young actors on a journey into the backstreets of Lionde, to get to know, and even recognise, the strangest characters in this story.
