Event description

The well-known and well-loved Finnish music genius Jaakko Eino Kalevi and his band are coming to Vilnius to present their album "Chaos Magic", released in November. The show is scheduled for the first Friday in February at the Aktų Salė of the cultural complex Sodas 2123.
You can talk for hours about Jaakko and his connections to Lithuania. Although this is not the first time he has visited our country, the last live performance was more than 4 years ago. JEK was also very welcome when the halls were "bursting" with audiences. We are also heartened by the fact that Ieva Kabašinskaitė directed one of Jaakko's most unique music videos, "Emotions in Motion". And Manfred, who is famous in Lithuania and takes his music all over the world, is a good friend of Jaakko. It was the latter who invited the Finn to Lithuania a couple of years ago to showcase his DJ talents and introduced him to different cultural spaces. One of them was Sodas 2123, where Jaakko expressed his wish to perform one day.
In the second half of November, the famous multi-instrumentalist presented his sixth album "Chaos Magic", released by Weird World Records. The double album consists of fresh pop and baroque electronica sounds, infused with a mysterious melodicism. Jaakko describes the album as his boldest release to date. The album is inspired by the artist's new home in Athens, where he moved from Berlin. The warmer weather and the relaxation of the locals were intertwined with the sub-genres that were highly explored at the time: space jazz, neon synthpop, soft ballads and psychedelic rock. In fact, many other big names contributed to the album, such as the French singer, model and actress Alma Jodorowsky, Jimi Tenor and Faux Real.
And although the recordings were inspired by the more heady lifestyle of Greece and the Mediterranean, it was not only there. The album was worked on extensively at a music camp in Geneva and at Estonia's dedicated arts and technology farm near Tartu, where the artist had also set up his creative oasis. Stylistically, as much as it is inspired or indicated by the title, the album is all over the place and doesn't try to box itself in. Jaakko is happy to go back to his roots and not be tied to one theme. From the cold new-wave sounds of "Dino's Deo" to the evocative disc "Night Walk". The album has been acclaimed by Lithuanian music enthusiasts and even made LRT Opus Album of the Week.
Jaakko Eino Kalevi is one of the most unique artists of his generation. The well-known Lithuanian tracks "No End" or "Deeper Shadow" and "Flexible Heart" also promise not to be forgotten. Personally, Jaakko has a lot to show in his live concerts. Completely relaxed and dedicated to his music, the blond man is a real eye-catcher, even for first-time visitors. Don't miss this unique opportunity to meet or reconnect with our good friend from Finland on 2 February at the cultural complex Sodas 2123. The concert is organized by sad people agency, which brought to Lithuania this year such world names as Ultraflex, Gents and Hector Gachan.
