The Vilnius City Municipality St.Christopher Chamber Orchestra (artistic director and chief conductor Modestas Barkauskas), renowned for its versatility, professionalism, and artistic imagination, will be opening the festival's concert series this year. The event, which became a tradition in 1998, will take place at the National Art Gallery, where the works of the undergraduates of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre will be performed.

The work, prepared for double bass and string orchestra, explores the various ways of preparing and extracting the sound of this instrument, making it difficult - or "impossible" - for the strings to "speak" in traditional ways.
