The Klaipėda brass quintet will perform with the bassoon, the lowest-pitched instrument of the woodwind group. We will find many devoted fans of this instrument in the world, and one of them is the Lithuanian Žilvinas Smalys living in Chile. The first Z. Smali's acquaintance with music began at the "Ėuoliukos" music school, at the age of 13 he started learning to play the bassoon with M.K. At the Čiurlionis School of Art under A. Ančerevičius. Later he studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music with prof. J. Slankauskas, he continued his studies at the Utrecht Conservatory (Netherlands), later he tried to learn the intricacies of the instrument in London at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and at the Zurich Conservatory. Such a wealth of musical knowledge was evaluated in various competitions in Lithuania and abroad, and he nurtures his musical career in various projects that took him to distant Chile. Here he not only performs, but also shares his knowledge with students after becoming a professor. Let's go together to the unprecedented sounds of wind instruments!
