At the center of the new film "Accident at the Nile Hilton" by director, there is an exceptionally talented fisherman's son. He unexpectedly receives a state scholarship at the prestigious Al Azcharo University in Cairo, where a young boy who used to read books under the covers at night is given access to countless bookshelves protected in a thousand-year-old religious and scientific sanctuary. However, it doesn't take long to realize that the corridors of the palace of wisdom are permeated with hypocrisy, political intrigues, and conspiracies. Against his will, the boy gets involved in a deadly power game, where he is pushed around like a chess piece by a cynical yet principled state security agent. Will the simple boy's mind be able to unravel the web of corruption and manipulation that irreparably divides the two powers - the state and religion? The film, awarded for the best screenplay at this year's Cannes Film Festival, will not allow the audience to catch their breath for a moment and will particularly appeal to fans of John le Carré's spy novels and Umberto Eco's "The Name of the Rose". Rated N-16. In Arabic with Lithuanian subtitles.
