Vilnius will announce the start of the 2023 winter season on Friday, 1 December, with the lighting of the "Christmas in the Capital" Christmas tree, which has become the symbol of Christmas in the Cathedral Square. 

The Christmas tree lighting ceremony will start at 7.30 pm. Monika Marija, Vaidas Baumila, Moniqué, Rokas Yan, Rūta Mur, Alina Orlova, Giedrė, Evgenya Redko, Nombeko Augustė, the music group FC Baseball, and the mixed choir Vilnius Voices will perform on the stage by the Christmas tree. 

The event, which will be broadcast live on LRT, will be hosted by the cool duo Ignas Krupavičius and Eglė Kernagytė.
