In the exhibition "Sinews", Karolina Ūla Valentaitė, an artist of the younger generation, deepens her look at the relationship between herself, her mother and nature. These three elements, intertwined and united, form a seamless ecosystem where it is impossible to distinguish the beginning from the end. Just as the strands of the mycelium of a forest mushroom snake between different plants, the works create connections between family stories, relationships and deep-rooted folkloric and mythological motifs. In this exhibition, the relationship with the mother found in the plant takes on the metaphor of a biological sinew, a strong symbol of the inherited connection with nature. This personal and archaic relationship becomes the basis for an exploration of a deeper being in a world permeated by technology and consumerism. At the same time, the question is raised: to what extent does man remain instinctive, intuitive, biologically connected to nature - and to what extent is he an individual who is moving away from nature? In the search for answers to these questions, the works reveal the complexity of the relationship between man and nature. This relationship becomes the main thread that not only helps to understand oneself, one's environment and one's relationship with one's fellow human beings, but also to discover new ways of existing with nature in a technological world. The Art Park Gallery (27 Rotušės a. 27, Kaunas) will be open until 9 March.
