The Kaunas Symphony Orchestra will close the spring season with a spectacular concert with a special guest - Ukrainian opera prima donna Liudmyla Monastyrska. One of the most popular sopranos in the world, the generously talented Liudmyla Monastyrska's schedule of performances is scheduled for a year ahead, but in appreciation of the support of Lithuania and its people for Ukraine, she has agreed to come for this exceptional concert, which will be a wonderful gift to Kaunas and to the whole Lithuania. 

 Liudmyla Monastyrska is one of the most prominent soloists on the world opera stage today, a prima donna of the Ukrainian National Opera, and the owner of a lyric-dramatic soprano of exceptional beauty and timbre. Foreign critics call the Ukrainian singer a new star of the vocal world, "the queen of nuance and pianissimo" and a continuation of the traditions of Maria Callas and Montserrat Caballé. Her wide international recognition is confirmed by her many leading roles in the world's most prestigious theatres, including La Scala, Royal Covent Garden, the Metropolitan Opera, the Vienna National Opera and others. It was Monastyrska who, at the outbreak of the war between Russia and Ukraine, was invited to replace the famous Russian prima donna Anna Netrebko in the Metropolitan Opera's production of Turandot in New York.
