Ansis Epnero's very first documentaries, Alive and Night Flight, already show the director's special expressiveness in documentary reality and editing. Epnero's colourful field of interest also encompassed various artistic fields, and he was a regular contributor to the film magazine "Art". The film "Lielvarde Tape" marked the beginning of a new phase in his career: his interest in ancient signs and symbols.
