Kopa String Quartet, formed in Klaipėda, with violinists Konrad Levicki and Tomas Cinelis, violist Ivan Bertash and cellist Kornelija Kupšytė, started its activity in 2021 at the festival of contemporary music "Permainų muzika", when it performed at the concert "Kutavičius Music Theatre". Since then, the ensemble has presented a variety of modern music programmes dominated by minimalism. One of the main pieces in the quartet's repertoire is Stieg Reich's Different trains, which the ensemble performed for the first time in 2022 at the concert Different trains at Klaipėda railway station. Later on, this piece by Steve Reich was the mainstay of other concerts: it was performed at the International Music Festival "N žemė" in Nida, as well as at the cultural space "Hofas" in Klaipėda. All members of the Kopa String Quartet are connected by their work in the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra. Konrad Levicki is the Concertmaster of the orchestra and Kornelija Kupšytė is the Concertmaster of the cello group. In addition to concerts of serious music, the quartet also educates the younger generation, and this year has prepared an educational programme for children "Coliukė".
