Fans of piano music are in for an exclusive event. Four representatives of the famous dynasty of musicians will play on one stage - Lukas Geniušas, Anna Geniušienė, Petras Geniušas and Julius Geniušas. November 3 In the National Philharmonic, the famous performers of the Lithuanian and world stages will perform the composition for four pianos "Canto Ostinato", created by the famous Dutch composer Simeon Ten Holt, whose 100th anniversary is celebrated this year. The unique musical experience will be highlighted by an unusual spectacle - four pianos will create a kind of "magic circle" on the stage, where the sounds of an impressive work created by the aesthetics of minimalism will spread for more than an hour. The performers of the concert are very popular personalities of the audience. Lukas and Anna are laureates of the world's most important piano competitions, Chopin, Van Cliburn and others, Petr Geniuš's recitals are always awaited with special impatience, and Julius Geniuš is a well-known conductor who also plays the piano on exceptional occasions. Being bright musical individuals, the Geniušas usually perform as soloists, although sometimes they also play in duets: the audience has heard the father-son duet Petros and Lukas Geniuša more than once, the brothers Julius and Petras Geniuša have played music on one stage, the talented couple Lukos and Annas attracted special interest in the spring Genius concert in Vilnius. However, the four Geniuses have never performed together, let alone with four pianos. Therefore, their concert being organized for the first time is a unique event, because it is not easy for piano celebrities who are actively performing internationally and developing their solo careers to come together for a joint performance. The exclusivity will be strengthened by the fact that even four high-class pianos belonging to the National Philharmonic will play at the same time in this concert.Lukas Geniušas is one of the brightest and most talented Lithuanian pianists. His recitals are performed in the world's most famous concert halls - London's Wigmore Hall, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, Paris' Salle Gaveau and Auditorium du Louvre, New York's Frick Collection, Genoa's Teatro Carlo Felice, Milan's Sala Verdi and others He is an artist with a wide creative horizon, performing a very diverse repertoire, from the Baroque or Ludwig van Beethoven piano concertos to Paul Hindemith's magnificent Ludus tonalis cycle and the works of John Adams and Arvo Pärt. Lukas Geniuš's recordings have repeatedly won prestigious awards: in 2019 the pianist was awarded the "Diapason d'OR" prize, 2022 - Grammophone Award, 2023 – International Classical Music Prize (ICMA).Anna Geniušienė became especially famous when she won a silver medal a year ago in one of the most important Van Cliburn piano competitions in the world. Critics praised her "rich voice, strong musical individuality and impeccable virtuosity" (Musical America), as well as her "fresh interpretation that listeners could enjoy in every bar of the piece" (La Scena), and audiences raved about Anna's playing. Musical America, the oldest US classical music magazine, named her Young Artist of the Month (July 2022), and this June she became the face of the cover of Pianist Magazine. Anna Geniušienė is invited to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington, the famous Vienna Concert Hall, Zurich's Tonhalle and elsewhere. Her latest album, featuring lullabies from John Field and Ferenc Liszt to Henri Dutilleux and Mieczysław Weinberg, is due out in September, with a joint album by Anna and Lukas Genius next year.Petras Geniušas is an extremely charismatic personality. His concert programs always attract exceptional attention from the listeners, no matter what he plays - Franz Schubert, Philip Glass or one of the many works of Lithuanian authors dedicated to him. A recital, a chamber music program or a concert with an orchestra - the genre of the performance does not affect the inner mood of this pianist on stage: every time the listeners hear a seemingly born here and now, spontaneous interpretation, which, however, is absolutely convincing from the point of view of aesthetic and stylistic validity. Petras Geniušas does not shy away from participating in unconventional projects and often initiates them himself. One of them will be played on November 3, when the three pianists will be joined by Julius Geniušas, who will exchange the conductor's trampoline for the piano this time.
