The biggest jazz festival in Lithuania "Kaunas Jazz" announces that on May 1, 2023, one of the world's most famous jazz singers, Kurt Elling, will perform at the "Žalgiris" arena in Kaunas at the invitation of the festival. The US star, winner of two prestigious "Grammy" statuettes, Kurt Elling, will present the world premiere to the festival audience - a program performed with the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra. In Kaunas, it will be possible to hear the works specially arranged for this project, and the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra led by Algimantas Treikauskas and conducted by Karolis Variakojis will play on stage with K. Elling.The Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra has performed with many famous world performers, and in 2021 the audience of the "Kaunas Jazz" festival enjoyed its performance with the popular jazz singer Gregory Porter.The critics of Downbeat, the most important jazz magazine in the world, have chosen Kurt Elling as the best jazz vocalist 17 times. Even twelve times he was chosen as the best vocalist of the year by the American Association of Jazz Journalists.
