For over twenty years, the Lithuanian Press Photography Competition has been encouraging photojournalists to produce visual information responsibly, while at the same time looking for a distinctive point of view on events in the country and the world. And although the rules of the competition are regularly updated, taking into account the experience of global competitions and the development of photographic technology, the main requirement - not to stray from reality - always remains. A technical review panel, composed each year of representatives of the country's largest editorial offices, ensures that the photographs selected for the exhibition comply with the competition rules. All the images selected by the jury will be exhibited for the first time at Vilnius Town Hall. The winners of each category will be announced at the opening ceremony and will be awarded the Golden Shot Award, while the winner of the Open category will receive a special award. The annual yearbook "Lithuanian Press Photography 2024" accompanying the exhibition will be presented at the end of May during the closing ceremony.
