A performance by the artist will take place at the opening of the exhibition, which she will invite you to participate in as well as watch.
The exhibition will include watercolours from the series "In the Meadow". Part of this series was presented at the international contemporary art fair ArtVilnius'22 in 2022. Always looking for unique forms and solutions, Liaudanskaitė's works seem to use the texture of paper to create a world of their own, sui generis, which is neither fact nor fiction. Often, when casting watercolours, one concentrates so much on technique that aesthetics becomes more important than ideas, but it is the combination of technical skills and vision that brings the most unexpected results in Liaudanskaitė's work. Her watercolours take us to an infinite oasis of peace, awaken an almost primordial sense of security and fullness, and explore the eternal theme of man in nature. It is here that freedom and equality reign supreme.
However, the artist is also presenting her latest video work, "Dress for Summer or How to Die Well" (cinematographer and editor Justas Miceika, actress Laura Geraščenko), which considerably adjusts not only the scale of her expressions, but also her subject matter developed up to now. It is still about life, its sunny and optimistic moments, but all of this is receding as anxiety grows and premonitions of violence, abuse and fear are brewing. It is about choices, not only in living but also in dying. About the possibility of (re)remaining in a changing world.
