We invite you to the opening of the exhibition "Sounds Like a Silver Spoon" by the young generation of artists Eglė Petrošiūtė and Liudvika Sonia Koort. The title of the exhibition, which is derived from a poetic text written by the two artists, acts as an open dialogue about the psychology of space and the idea that the spaces that we shape eventually begin to shape us.
According to Eglė Agnė Benkunskytė, curator of the exhibition Sounds Like a Silver Spoon, although E. Petrošiūtė and L. S. Koort operate as separate artists, their meeting in the main hall of Medusa reveals the common threads of their work. "The motif of the garden as a space for the creation of cosmologies is an important one in this exhibition," notes the curator, "In Lithuanian mythology, the garden marks a liminal space where the cycles of nature and the cultural endeavour of man meet, and the artists explore this tension through sculpture, textiles, drawing, video art, sound and installation elements."
