On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of M. K. Čiurlionis and in order to highlight the objects of the National M. K. Čiurlionis Trail, the exhibition "On the Trails of M. K. Čiurlionis" is presented. Every year, a joint group of young artists from grades 9-11 take part in a one-day plein-air excursion. The aim is to look at the legacy of M.K. Čiurlionis' work through the eyes of a contemporary artist. During the trip, the pupils draw, paint, sketch, and choose the motifs of their compositions by visiting the memorial expositions in M. K. Čiurlionis' house-museum in Druskininkai, recording examples of the local architecture and the Dzūkija landscape. This field trip is summed up by the travelling exhibition of the students' works "On the trails of M.K. Čiurlionis", which is being exhibited for the first time at the M.K. Čiurlionis House-Museum. The pupils present images captured in various exhibition spaces, recalling the creative biography of M. K. Čiurlionis. A collection of several dozen students' works is on display, showing a variety of themes and techniques. Landscapes, the surroundings of M. K. Čiurlionis' home-museum, and other important objects - the paths where M. K. Čiurlionis, the greatest Lithuanian artist of all time, walked more than a hundred years ago - dominate the collection.
