Pianist Gabija Natalevičienė invites you to discover the features of the piano that often remain in the shadows and to embark on a mesmerizing, meditative inner journey together: to open yourself to soothing, therapeutic music.
The first concert of the series* will feature pieces of minimalist style by foreign authors. Both the idea of this whole cycle and the first concert are based on composer H. Otte's thought about his work "The Book of Sounds": "This work helps to reveal the listener as a partner of sound and silence, who, searching for his world, longs to be alone with sound. In the work, the piano is discovered as an instrument of timbre and expressive sound, with wide possibilities of dynamics, colors and resonance" (Hans Otte). In the music of minimalism, simple sound motifs and their variations are constantly repeated, as if distracting the listener from the actual listening and leading him to a state of trance. Listening to this music time seems to stand still, and the listener is immersed in a continuous stream of sounds.
