The "Seasons" concert will feature two well-known masterpieces that have not lost their popularity in the world - "Four Seasons" by Italian Baroque master Antonio Vivaldi and "Four Seasons in Buenos Aires" by Argentinian tango revolutionary Ástor Piazzolla.
Performers of the VDU Chamber Orchestra and NIKO Concertmaster of the New Ideas Chamber Orchestra, violinist Augusta Zuokė together with maestro Vytautas Lukočius will meet on stage. Together, they will perform the pearl of the Baroque era - A. Vivaldi's cycle of solo violin concerts with the orchestra "Four Seasons".
A. The solo part of Piazzolla's "Four Seasons in Buenos Aires" will be performed by accordion virtuoso Laimonas Salijus, who has performed with the VDU Chamber Orchestra many times. A. Violinist AUGUSTA ZUOKĖ is the concertmaster and co-founder of the New Ideas Chamber Orchestra NIKO, which has been performing for the fifteenth season. With this collective, he participated in more than seventy concert tours in Europe, Asia and North America. The artist regularly performs in Lithuania and abroad as a soloist and member of various ensembles. He played with Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, Calabrian Symphony Orchestra, Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Brazilian National Theater Orchestra, etc.
VDU CHAMBER ORCHESTRA, founded in 2011. Vytautas Magnus University Music Academy, is the only professional chamber orchestra in the city of Kaunas. It was founded not only to expand the culture of classical music and its modern interpretations in the temporary capital, but also to represent Lithuania, the city of Kaunas and the university at the international level, and to represent them abroad. During the relatively short period of its existence, the orchestra has already organized more than 200 concerts in Lithuania and abroad. The conductor of the orchestra is Rita Bieliauskaitė. From 2019 the chief conductor of the autumn orchestra is Vytautas Lukočius.
