Event description
He began his career in the 1970s. Having started his career as a member of the legendary Kaunas big-band movement in the 1970s, after the restoration of Lithuania's independence, K. Ignatavičius became the soul of the Kaunas City Hall. Tradition is one of the factors that shape a city. Naturally, it is difficult to preserve them, but there are always citizens who, with great personal effort, are able to connect the phases of the city's existence into a single narrative thread. Kęstutis Ignatavičius, the Master of Ceremonies at Kaunas City Hall, is one such person. In the former city archive room, exhibitions created by other Kaunas citizens are on display, telling the story of how the city shapes the man and the man shapes the city. Ignatavičius himself worked here for several years before the renovation of Kaunas City Hall. The first exhibition is dedicated to him, where you will see objects belonging to the hero and hear his authentic stories. The exhibition will be open until 6 April 2025 at Kaunas Town Hall (15, Town Hall Avenue, Kaunas).
