After the fun rhythms of summer subside, we welcome autumn with original and solid wind music scores. The Kaunas Wind Instrument Orchestra "Ažuolynas" invites you in advance to mark November 18 in your calendar and set aside a time for the "Musica academia" meeting. We call the late autumn volley the musical event of the year, which is made meaningful by the Kaunas wind instrument orchestra "Ažuolynas", which has been active since the 1960s, with works by foreign and Lithuanian composers and guests of the program. This year's program will feature trumpeter Marco Pierobon from Italy, who will perform a trumpet concerto dedicated to him by the American composer Giancarlo Aquilanti. The date of the concert coincides with Latvia's Independence Day, so we will also congratulate our neighbors with a special piece. The program will also include one of the most monumental compositions of the 20th century - "Festival Variations" by Claude T. Smith, "La Procession du Rocio" by Joaquin Turina sparkling with Spanish color, "Gardens of a Summer Night" by Arvyd Malcio and "Come Sunday" by American composer Omar Thomas , which fuses the powers of JS Bach, Duke Ellington, blues, jazz and R&B.
An elegant and sensual program is dedicated to the followers of the musical life of the "ĄŽuolynas" orchestra - an invitation to enjoy and share the good news.
