New Year's Concert
Tango Rhythm to 2025
31 December 2024, Tuesday, 7:30pm
Museum of Applied Arts and Design, Arsenalo st. 3A, Vilnius
"For me, the tango has always been for the ears, not for the feet", said Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla, hardly expecting his music to become so popular that, even years after his death, the tango is still heard everywhere from concert halls to television commercials to films. A traditional dance with elements of classical music, jazz or even rock, all tinged with an indescribable longing, nostalgia and passion. It's not just dance music. Á. Piazzolla's works are meant to be listened to and immersed together in the emotional story of tango. The light-hearted, melodramatic, yet passionately nostalgic compositions invite you to listen and spend the last moments of the year together. We invite you to celebrate the old year in the authentic space of the Old Arsenal, listening to Argentinian rhythms.
