In its third cycle, the NICHE contemporary electroacoustic music concert series will invite visitors not to its usual location - the spaces of Kaunas Artists' House, but to various architectural objects in Kaunas, where visitors will be offered guided tours before the concerts, as well as exclusive talks by Algimantas Grigas (from the initiative ‘’Ekskursas’’), the curator of the tour programme, and other tour guides.
The concert will take place on the 25th of May at the Public Security Academy of Mykolas Romeris University - a historical space commemorating the most important events of the independent Lithuanian statehood. The duo of composer Agnė Matulevičiūtė and pianist Marta Finkelštein will present their programme Dear, Dear. The performers interpret familiar musical themes in their own way, transforming them into a map of contemporary identity centred on experimentation, sensitivity, and keyboard expression.

▋ The duo of composer Agnė Matulevičiūtė and pianist Marta Finkelštein has been working together since 2021, when they found their common ground by combining the sounds of piano and analogue/modular synthesizers. Agnes' creative interests include performance, theatre, cinema, and interdisciplinary projects, and she is an active performer under the pseudonym Agnès M. Marta, meanwhile, she has many years of experience in contemporary music performance and music mentoring.
The different profiles and experiences of the two artists, united by the communion of musical ideas, complement each other in a meaningful way. The duo, which has no analogues in Lithuania, reveals the diverse possibilities of today's expression, combining acoustic and electronic elements, while focusing on the expression of keyboard instruments.
▋ “Dear, Dear” is a series of audio love letters to the composers' main musical inspirations, coded with the address - Dear John, Dear Meredith, Dear Nils, Dear Maurice, Dear Hania, Dear Angelo, Dear Suzanne. The programme becomes a map of their experiences and inspirations, where familiar, beloved works that shape their musical identity are reimagined.
