Peg, Beibi, Emi and Eva - four girls living in the same apartment. Along with many women of that time, they work as typists in various early 20th century Stockholm offices, trying to balance poorly paid work, household chores, friendship, romantic adventures, and the struggle for better working conditions. One of the main highlights of "The Shout of the Nordic Fox" is the rare portrayal of women's intimacy on the screen - the director generously dedicates time to depict the girls' everyday life, full of hugs, care, and joy. It is a wonderful, unconventional work that captures the negotiations between "feminine" and "masculine" spaces, and the shifting boundaries of these spaces. N-13
