In the small Spanish town of La Mancha, 11-year-old Alfonso is the real-life great-great-great-great-grandson of the legendary Don Quixote. Thanks to his vivid imagination, the boy doesn't have many friends. To be precise, he has only one: the neighbourhood Pancho Panza (the great-great-great-great-grandson of Don Quixote's loyal armourer Sancho Panza). However, the boys are forced to hide their friendship because their families get along like dog and cat.
