One of the most beloved and frequently performed operas in the world will be reborn in a new form on one of the most prestigious opera stages in the world. After a 19-year hiatus, the Metropolitan presents a new production of “The Magic Flute” directed by Briton Simon McBurney, which the Wall Street Journal critic hailed as “the best Mozart opera production I’ve ever seen.” French conductor Nathalie Stutzmann will lead the orchestra, which, unlike usual, will be raised to stage level and can interact with both the audience and the singers. S. McBurney's debut on the Metropolitan stage will feature theatrical pomp, unexpected video projections, sound effects, and even acrobatic numbers, giving a well-known classical work new and unexpected colors. Conductor: Nathalie Stutzmann; Cast: Erin Morley, Lawrence Brownlee, Thomas Oliemans, Kathryn Lewek, Stephen Milling, Brenton Ryan, Alan Held.
